Our Story
A decade
in motion
Ten years of showing up for the kids, families, and schools we serve. Every milestone here was built by this community.
2016
Where it all began
Royal Athletes was founded on March 1 and ran its first community clinic that same day. The firsts came fast: personal training in March, our first Community Day in April, our first summer camp in May, football camp in June, and soccer camp in July. After-school enrichment launched that fall, and in November we began Feed the Community, our Thanksgiving meal for the homeless, a tradition now nine years strong.
2017
Building the movement
Our first Community Walk stepped off in April. That summer the Royal Athletes 30-Day Grind Challenge got the whole community moving, and we ran our first basketball camp.
2018
Lifting others up
A milestone year: our first scholarship, first mentorship program, and first youth detention center camp all launched in March. We welcomed our first RA interns, hosted a Father’s Day flag football for fathers and sons in May, and gave away a van that November.
2019
Schools & wellness
The RiseNGrind Challenge kicked off in May. By October we had hosted our first Wellness Day and taught our very first school PE class.
2020
Moving through COVID
When the world shut down, we kept moving, launching our first virtual enrichments and our WakeUp Well virtual morning wellness classes.
2021
Homeschool & community PE
In March we brought PE classes to homeschool families and communities, meeting people right where they were.
2022–2025
Going nationwide
School partnerships and programs expanded across the country as the team and our reach kept growing.
2026
Ten years — and Layor Fit
A decade strong, and the launch of Layor Fit, the new home for Royal Athletes apparel.
